COURSE DESCRIPTION

 At 3 – 4 yrs. children’s musical activities center on music in nature and all the new things we see and experience every day. We realize many of you still need to move, explore, and hear new songs, along with new projects and experiences! Our hybrid program offers a video released once a month in addition to your weekly class Gathering on Zoom so you and your child can listen, move to the music and feel the rhythm! Stories and imagination play an important part as we act out our musical journeys in our Zoom Gatherings. At this time we all come together for a fun, short meet and greet sharing our experiences, our likes, a new story or two, and making new friends along the way! The best part is hands on putting our new rhythms on your own instruments at home! You can find pots and pans, round oatmeal containers, silverware for sticks at home, or Instrument kits are available for $20 without a drum, or $32 with a good, waterproof drum!  Materials recommended for Fall classes:  https://www.musikgarten.org/product/cycle-of-seasons-wind-dancers-family-packet.  

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Along the way, your 3-4 yr old will:

• Sing to find your voice – up and down, loud and soft, songs we know, and new ones we love. Language development is critical as we become aware of the words to our songs, and with repetition, enjoy them! • Listen to good music from many genre – both lyrics and poetry – so we have a wonderful experience rich with songs from different cultures and with different sounds.
• Move to the music – Fingerplays, body awareness songs, chants, songs that tell stories and spur our imagination! Moving, dancing, marching & swaying!
• Play and touch instruments playing rhythms, developing our sense of time and flow in music, steady beat, and loud and soft.
• Encouraging a healthy self-esteem is a part of this accepting experience! Sensory learning and acquiring your own confidence and healthy self-esteem will help children move toward new accomplishments!
